Addressing the party meeting today, K. Liantlinga alleged that there was an element of tendency to use Minority for vote bank by the Congress. "The Home Minister's refusal to Chakma general census proposed recently by Central YMA to drive out Bangladeshi Foreigner has in itself an element of illusive tendency to use Minority for vote bank politics", he said.
ZNP Vice President alleged that Congress has the custom of wooing vote from minority, low cultured and marginalized section of the society.
"The Home Minister had imitated the same tradition which is widely practice by Congress in main land India. Since they (Congress) want Chakma vote, they tried to protect the latter", K. Liantlinga alleged adding that Home Minister while trying to abort the CYMA's plan to take Chakma census had no love for the land but wanted to Chakma for their selfish vote bank politics.
K. Liantlinga said PM Narendra Modi and BJP has great concern over the issue of illegal Bangladeshi immigrant. The Indian Prime Minister during election campaign trial had propagandised the need for finding out foreigners and then sending them back to their respective countries as ultimately of which the BJP won massive victory in Assam, K. Liantlinga said.
He added that although the government of Mizoram may protect Chakma, the central by no means will protect the former.
According to Liantlinga, PIL on the issue of Bangladeshi foreigner has been submitted the Apex Court. Five states - Assam, W Bengl, Meghalaya, Tripura and Mizoram have also been asked to submit PIL on Bangladeshi foreigner by the Supreme Court, he added.
